Avoidance

I read on a profile that our INFJ primary energy orientation (or what did they call it) is avoidance. I see this totally in my life. If there's a remote hint of negativity in a course of action I will take flight. And then ponder all the wonderful things that could have been.

I really wanna try and overcome this. I have made progress with affirmations, nlp and hypnosis (done by myself) but am still struggling, how are other INFJs coping with this?

(8 days later with no reply, I guess the avoidance strategy has been proven :p)

Hmm...it may sound like a cliché, but the only thing that worked for me is to force myself (or actually getting someone to force me) to do this something I avoid (to jump off the cliff so to say). And after the first barrier is gone, you realize that avoiding it was just stupid :-) But it doesn't work all the time ;-)

Basically, you may avoid avoidance (hehe) but putting yourself in uncomfortable situations where you have no choice but to face them. On the other hand, the whole idea of avoidance is avoiding such situations. LOL

LOL! Thanks for your input though, sounds about right. Breaking out of the comfort zone to make the world your comfort zone ;)

hehe hi there! I am an ENTP but that doesn't mean avoidance is not a big issue for us too! guess it can be a problem for anyone engaged in undesired activities... what differs is actually the way we solve the matter: you guys avoid it, as you said hehe and us one-up it, so to say; on the other hand I'd like to ask you (if you're ever to read my post, consideering the feedback around here) what are your feelings about being in such situation. I mean anxiety comes first to my mind, what about you?
